I trained at the prestigious University of Nottingham where I gained a First Class BA (Hons) degree in counselling practice.I am also a BACP fully accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and work within the BACP ethical framework for good practice.I have been working at the NHS as a counsellor for a number of years and have experience of working within mental health settings.I have also trained and worked within the field of HIV and work with men and women affected by the infection.
I consider myself to be a very open minded and understanding person and non judgmental. I have training and personal life experiences that I feel enable me to connect well with others and understand them in a non pathological way. I welcome clients from all walks of life and particularly those from minority communities where their issues are so often misunderstand or pigeon holed. I have training and experience in a myriad of issues such as depression, anxiety,self esteem, sex and sexuality,identity confusion, loss and grief.
I am able to provide short term or longer term work and work collaboratively with clients helping facilitate them to gain the skills necessary to make better choices and manage stress more effectively. No issue is too small, if it matters to you then it is important!
I offer a flexible appointment system and cater for both day time and evening appointments. My fees are £40 per hour I offer a student discount fee of £30 per hour.
